Waking to the aftermath of a night of howling winds and snow I slip on some warm "housey" clothes and shuffle to the cabinet looking for just the right mug then shuffle over to the coffee pot. My eyes quickly squint from a vaguely familiar sensation. THE SUN!... and IT IS BRIGHT against all the white. Add to that illuminated snow crystals flying all around. Ooh,coffee on this cold snowy morning. Something more beautiful than the sun and better than coffee happens. Only up a few minutes my grandson comes gliding across the floor holding a well worn moccassin type slipper in each hand. He has a face full of anticipated delight to give me my shoes. My soul burst inside with a range of joyful~blessed~happy. All I can say is thank you and give hugs. With out a word he patiently watches me slip on the shoes and walks away. Then he returns in a walk-run-glide across the floor with a sock in each hand. Hands them to me as if they are a prize. Again, no words. He watches me like a guardian go through the process of removing the slippers, putting on the socks then putting the slippers on again. Satisfied he goes on his way. My heart is warmer than my feet as I ponder the morning gift. A babe, only 14 months, and he notices his Oma's barefeet. Not only does he notice but he willingly delightfully takes care of the situation. ..The ways of THE SPIRIT flowing in a child...BEAUTIFUL
James 2:16 NAS
