A Gramma's view on Breast Feeding

I just read a few news articles recently about breastfeeding  that made me mad.... I just don't know what to think about our American mindset toward breastfeeding.  It is the the most natural loving thing a mother can do for a new born life.  I know there can be exceptions.  I breast fed all five of our children.   The circle of women I was blessed to be part of  also breast fed their babies.. So natural..  Whenever we had potlucks, church gatherings, just hanging out we breast fed our babies.  The husbands, friends, found absolutely no offense.   We were discreet and hey.. a blanket thrown over your shoulder in July..with a baby at your breast... what else would you be doing?  Now, I see and have seen my beautiful daughters-in -love and daughter breast feed their babies.  Beautiful... Nothing disturbing, cross, sexual, private.... Is bottle feeding considered a private matter when a baby is fed in public? Nonsense.  Americans are too sterile...Get a grip.. We should praise women that are willing to give up their bodies to still sustain life after the birth.. As far as economics and being "green"?.. how cheap, sterile, nutritious, with no landfill by products  can you get? Come on people!  Get over it! Look at women all over the world.  Are we better than the rest of humanity?

Can you believe we have a law to make breast feeding legal?  Glad it's there if we need it.  GO HERE for the US law
