On the Forty-Seventh Day of Summer

Reaching for my glasses beside the bed, on the window seal, looking up, this is was my first sight of the day.

Wonder what made the lines..Maybe a slug? Or just a natural happenstance. I like the natural stained glass look.

The yellow are cone flowers just on the other side of a wood pile.  The orange color are a few clothes forgotten on the clothes line over night.

Afternoon dog walk

Walking Jacob's dog.  Walking mama's dog.

Just in from her walk. Angel will be glad when Dad's home tomorrow.

 Happy 100th  Birthday Lucille Ball

On the Forty-Sixth Day of Summer

I learned of the passing of Janny Grein yesterday.  Her music holds a very dear place in David's and my heart. Two friends Hunter and Shebra sang the two songs below at our wedding.  Her voice filtered through our home in the early years of our marriage. (We had all of her cassettes at the time)  Our two eldest children went to sleep listening to her, John Micheal Talbot or Micheal Card. Please take a moment to rest, close your eyes and listen.
Thank you Janny for using the gift of music given by our Creator to bless us. Click the words of the next to songs to listen.

PRAISE HIM

I ALWAYS WILL LOVE YOU

Listening to these songs ushers me into to a worshipful place centering on Jesus.

IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH JANNY'S MUSIC GO HERE TO BE GREATLY BLESSED

On the Forty-Fifth Day of Summer

Making my morning coffee, looked out of the kitchen window, this is what I saw

thankfully his/her breakfast was not in the garden
Today was a very productive day in the kitchen. Put up some peaches, gleaned sweet potatoes, dried black beans which I pressure cooked, some sprouting soft onions I rescued and carmelized all  from  the cabinets for dinner and lunches tomorrow.

On the Forty-Fourth Day of Summer

Today is the last day of summer vacation for David. Teachers start back tomorrow.  We all went to WildCat Lake. Here are some pictures of the last day of teacher summer vacation.

Started off the morning with wholewheat biscuits

Had lots of fun at Wild Cat Lake

Malachi and Mommie

Thanks Papa for capturing our fun

Look at me swim

These butterflies were just hanging out on the beach

Catch me mom. In the air. Lots of symbolism here

Just slid down the board beside Malachi

Home. Yes we live in Appalachia.  Getting rid of the old.

This video is so much fun. Looks like Boone folks. Easily can come across similar celebrations here. TURN IT UP!!!!

On the Forty-Third Day of Summer

David had supper ready when I came home from work. Grilled chicken, grilled squash with onions and tomatoes, and salad.

All the greens came from the garden and the squash.

JOY

David has wanted to get a turtle sandbox for the grandchildren. Almost bought a small plastic swimming pool for a sandbox.  A neighbor up the street just move and left this turtle. David asked about it earlier in the day. A little tap at the front door and!  Voila! a sandbox turtle appears on the porch. Don't 'cha just love life!

Forty-Second Day of Summer

I am a very blessed woman.
Deeper in love than ever with a man named David.
A smile moves across my face with the blessed  thought of my children.
A lilt in my heart as I see each grand child's face in my mind.
Grateful for long lasting through the years friendships.
Colors, smells of earth, sound of the cicada's at night.
Taste of wine at the end of a day.
A kiss. Embrace.
Whir of a fan on a summers evening.
Rest. Long sighs of contentment.
Rich.

On the Fourty-First Day of Summer

I really enjoy the flowers David brings in from the yard

Last nights birthday surprise from my sweetheart complete with a one of a kind card made by David

So excited, gotta show them off again.

Friends for at least 31 years.

Time flew by ~three hours ~in this one spot.  Reminiscing, encouraging, laughing, fleeting moments of teared up eyes, and just plain JOY, sharing life at this moment in time together.  Thank you Danny and Beckie for my birthday meal.
