On the Sixty-First Day of Summer

I stayed home until late afternoon. Did a little grocery shopping in the late afternoon. Really didn't want to go out at all.  We live just down the street from Appalachian State University.  This weekend is the big move in weekend.  Town is very busy.  I like being tucked away on our little urban homestead.  I also told a friend today I would join her in the 21 Day Vegan Challenge.  It starts September 5th.  Then I stumbled upon this today... On the Sixtieth Day of Summer

A day with two of the four grandchildren. Selah came over while mama and daddy went out for a relaxing cafe breakfast. Malachi rolled out biscuit dough to make and "S" for Selah and "M" for Malachi. He was pretty pleased to hand Selah her biscuit. Aunt Anna enjoyed some book-cuddle time.

A rested mama and daddy.  Good timing. Selah had just finished lunch and was ready for a nap.

On the Fifty-Ninth Day of Summer

Thought this black eyed susan looks like a bird in flight.

See the wings?

Anna and I went to see The Help this evening.  Take some tissue if you go see this.  Highly recommend..

Fifty-Seventh Day of Summer

I came home from work today with this wonderful display of art on our road in front of the house. Mama and son obviously enjoyed sidewalk chalk today.

Hop-Scotch.  I remember it only going to 10. I think they got carried away.

This is how you hop scotch

It's been a REALLY long time since I have done this

On the Fifty-Sixth Day of Summer

I am always thankful for each day to experience life. The air was cool and breezy. The night sounds are filtering through the opened windows. I just didn't have much gumption today.  Felt like one long sigh of a day.

I did enjoy this article  Grand parent names

On the Fifty-Fifth Day of Summer

Nice morning surprise. Jacob and Angel stopped by.

Homemade mango salsa and guacamole. Made by my sweetheart.

We're cookin in the kitchen. Preppin vegetables for the grill

Grilling home grown squash with eggplant, and corn from a friends garden. (We had one eggplant from our garden)

Local beef and store bought salmon

The corn was so tasty

What a good old faithful grill. Has flamed broiled many a meal.
