On the Eighty-Second Day of Summer

Today in the kitchen... Apple cake, used apples from our backyard tree, whole wheat bread, pizza dough, pressured cooked some beans, which I later made into a soup, chopped up veggies for the pizza, ground some raw almonds to make almond butter put it in the red blotchy tin container. Satisfied.

Whole wheat pizza dough, homemade pesto, roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, green olives, chives, and just a little pepper jack cheese crumbled on top.

Malachi made his green olive cheddar pizza which he ate half of for dinner.
And now this.

On the Eightieth Day of Summer

Made a Balsamic-Yogurt Dressing

Made a Creamy Vinaigrette Dressing

The Dressings.  We used the Balsamic Yogurt Dressing on our rice pasta dish for dinner.

Here are links for the dressing recipes. I doubled both of them and added spices to my taste.  BALSAMIC YOGURT DRESSING   I added a little extra balsamic vinegar, a little ground ginger and a dash of curry powder.
CREAMY VINAIGRETTE  I  used apple cider vinegar, dijon mustard with a very little bit remaining in the jar of an Annie's ranch dressing. I kept the proportions about the same just substituted the Annie's for the mayonaise. Very tasty. These dressing seem to be good ones to use as a base dressing to doctor as you please.

The directions made me laugh.  Putting, frying, add few water.  Love it!

Marinated tofu in the remainder of an Annie's Shitake Dressing

Cooked together onion, celery, carrots, broccoli

Followed the FUN directions for the rice noodles on the bag.

The three above = this.  This photo is after we all had our fill. I only used half the noodles.

I also made another batch of yogurt. Just put 7, 6 ounce jars in the refrigerator.
As you know by now, I absolutely LOVE homemaking.

On the Seventy-Ninth Day of Summer

I lived in a fog today. Seemed to walk in my sleep until around five this afternoon. The whole earth, at least in Boone, seemed muffled, dark, sleepy, overcast and quiet.

I heard a racket just outside our bedroom window this evening.  This is what I found.  The bird decided to move just as I took the picture..

Now I will watch Wives and Daughters.

On the Seventy-Eighth Day of Summer

I almost forgot to post tonight.  After work and dinner I sat down to watch one episode of Wives and Daughters.  Like a good novel...I thought just one more episode, then just one more. Anna came home from work with a friend to watch a late movie. That's when I realized it was getting close to midnight.
