We have had several below freezing days. This morning when I woke, the temperature was -4.7. We have had a few colder mornings than this... Days like today make those busy summer days of putting food by such a blessing. I think of the special places and the faces of friends that gave from their bounty.
Cooking on our stove top for dinner. Apples purchased from up on Ridge Road at Coffey Orchard. Corn given to us from our friend Dianne. Green beans David and I picked from Carter and Jeannie's garden. Eggs boiled to make deviled eggs, gathered just yesterday morning from Dianne's hens.
A feast in my book.
I feel gratitude and smile as I stir our dinner pots.
