  1. 1.
a widely cultivated small Eurasian plant related to the onion, with purple-pink flowers and dense tufts of long tubular leaves that are used as a culinary herb.

My husband's garden had exploded with Spring's first chives. Today was the day to harvest the first crop to freeze for winter seasonings.

Growing in our back yard garden

Snip and Cut

Bagged and ready

To the house

Since the chives are organic and we had a light rain over night, don't think I will wash them

Dry chives. Don't have to drain or worry with water crystals when frozen.

I'd chop a while, Do something else in the house. Chop.. .Do something else....Til they were finished.

Ready for the freezer

During one of my do something else times I snapped a picture of this friend

Sundays. Slow. Easy. Restful. I like being home on Sundays. No agendas but to do what just happens. Today our eldest son's family came over for pancakes. Papa made Selah a flower pancake. We talked. The ladies had girl time on the porch. It made me happy to sit crossed legged across from our 4 year old and clap hand to hand and listen to her stories. Mama spread a blanket on the porch for the new crawler to show off her skills. Papa and son hung out in the kitchen talkin' world events and business. Yep. Sundays are for resting.
Yogurt mouth being silly

Bubble blower

Heirloom seed starters. Containers made by David out of a slat.

Paper tombstone labels.  Seeds appear dead but will rise.

Typical Sunday for my school teacher husband

Warm enough to hang up the ferns. I sat out here in the sun lots today.

Enjoyed Pandora music shuffle

Selah picked me flowers just before leaving. She asked me to take care of pony until the next time she came.
