October

I am made for autumn. Summer and I have a fickle relationship, but everything about autumn is perfect to me. Wooly jumpers, Wellington boot, scarves, thin first, then thick, socks. The low slanting light, the crisp mornings, the chill in my fingers, those last warm sunny days before the rain and the wind. Her moody hues and subdued palate punctuated every now and again by a brilliant orange, scarlet or copper goodbye. She is my true love. A recipe for Rowan Jelly by Alys Fowler

I am a hillbilly, a woman, and a poet, and I understood early on that nobody was going to listen to anything I had to say anyway because of this. So I started saying what I wanted to. Irene McKinney — Poet Laureate of West Virginia

Selah, Papa, Oma + A Beautiful Fall Day = Fun

A couple of hours enjoying our eldest grand daughter.

We first stopped by Farmer Brown's to find a pumpkin.

Choosing the right one.

Selah asked Mr Brown if she could pick out one for her sister. She  picked out a small cookin' pumpkin for Iona.  When I told her what type of pumpkin it was, she wanted to give it to mom too so she could cook it for a pie

Decided on this one.

Thank you Mr Brown for my pumpkin

We leave the farm for a park.

Stop, Look, Listen before you cross a road.

LET'S SWING FIRST!

Papa, You surprised me!

It's about time for supper, time to go home.

Let's Take a Ride

The light makes this look like an old postcard.

After taking the first picture the cows started running and began to line up.
