I Fall

A Tuesday after a work day. David goes to bed. I stay up for a while longer perusing the computer and chatting with a friend. Turn off lights. Look over at the Kindle on the table and think...."take that for a light to bed" Naah. Go toward our bedroom. Dark. Feel for the door knob to the hallway to bathroom. Open. Step into darkness and spin like Alice in Wonderland or someone in a time tunnel. David hears the thud runs to door and finds me lying at the bottom of the basement steps. He told me this was the worst day of his life.
I chose the right hand door in the dark. Wrong. That one opens to the basement.

Basement steps. I walked on to nothing and spun.

In shock. Shaking all over. David takes care of me. Xrays on ribs and foot. Nothing broken. So very, very sore. Blue and purple hues show their colors.

My sweet husband takes two days off of work to be with me. I am grateful. It hurts to walk. It hurts to breathe. It hurts to move for the most part.

Today we took a drive.

Still Water

Psalm 23:2-3Amplified Bible (AMP)

He lets me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still and quiet waters.

He refreshes and restores my soul (life);
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.

Savor the Moments

The past few days......Life goes fast. I would hear this statement from older folks when I was young. Yes. It sure does. I think the older you are the faster time seems to tick. I get it. I am glad I do. Savor. Yes, Savor those moments. Savor the smiles, the hugs, the noise, the mess, the exhaustion, the muscle aches. Savor.
My first baking in the West Jefferson home.
Early on a Saturday morning. Obids,NC
Landon is already seven years old. Whoa. Please slow down years.
Celebrating my sister. The youngest of the three. She is 50 now.
